Treatment of Stones

Earth Treasures Co. realizes the importance of accurate disclosure when dealing with gemstones. We disclose what we know about all of our gemstones. A simple code is used in our description of each stone. A stone designated with (N) is a natural stone that has undergone no treatment by man. A stone designated with (H) has undergone heat treatment only. A stone designated with (T) has undergone a treatment other than and/or in addition to heating (ie: diffusion, beryllium, radiation etc.). We have an independent third party certify many of out gemstones. The laboratory we use depends on the type and value of stone, as well as, the level of detail required. As a practical matter, we will not perform the same level of due diligence on a one carat blue sapphire that we will on a three carat natural ruby. In our description of each stone, if a certification applies, we will state the type of certification available and the name of the Laboratory. Whatever laboratory we use we will guarantee the certification with a 100% refund if the certificate should prove inaccurate. |
